BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL
The Eagles are coming off an appearance in the PSAA Semi-Finals last season (2006 – 2007) and have their best start ever beginning the 2007 – 2008 season. With a current record of 9 wins, 3 losses and 7 games left to play; the boys are looking forward to another exciting playoff run. Some notable defeats, this season, include Kew Forest, Portledge, United Nations High School, The Garden School and St. Demetrios. The senior class plays a tremendous role in the winning attitude and the hard work mentality of the team. Captains Luis Alers and Judah Martin set the tone for the team, bringing passion and execution to every practice and game. Craig Bender is the leading scorer averaging 23.5 points for the season thus far. He also set a school record for hitting eight 3 pointers in one game. Other team members include: Seniors - David Bonifas, David Slater and Carlos Suero, Juniors - Joshua Crutch and Joaquin Pardo and Sophomore - Jonathon Bonifas. Each player contributes greatly, on and off the court, to the success of the team. Mr. John Ninah returns for his fifth year as head coach of the Eagles.
