“Stepping Up” to Middle School
Fifth grade students walked down the aisle with a rose in hand to give to their parents who were waiting for them in the front of the sanctuary. Honor Cords were worn by National Elementary Society Members and also by NEHS Officers. Students received their diplomas and a beautiful Bible from the school. The students recited verses and sang two awesome songs. Mrs. Gepte, the class aide, made a beautiful video of the class and tat was shown during the ceremony. It was a wonderful day and a ceremony to be remembered. We are so excited for all of our 5th graders that will now be movingon to our Middle School Department. See you in September.
Please see “Galleries” “Photblog” for some memorable pictures.
Have a Blessed Summer
What a year. Researching, building, and playing games… oh my! I have enjoyed working with all the students and groups this year. I pray that you all have a safe and blessed summer.

Risk
As students learned about different cultures, the question was – What to do with that knowledge now? Let’s dominate the cultures. Students learned how to play the game Risk. Risk is a game of total world domination. This game was a little easier to learn than that of the Passport to Culture. This game was much more difficult to master. Which person should you ally with? Or – When should you break that alliance? and also, Which territory can I afford to lose to strengthen another territory? All of these questions needed to be answered while strategizing a winning game plan. 47? 47? I don’t think you can have that many armies on one territory! This was one of the best phrases said during all of the games.

Passport to Culture
Some groups have recently learned a new game called Passport to Culture. This game teaches many customs and traditions of cultures all over the world. What is the correct time to arrive at a dinner party in Paraguay? A) 30 minutes prior to time. B) Exactly on the time. Or C) 30 minutes after invited time. This question and many others stumped the groups that played. I answered that correctly! is one of the many exclamations that could be heard during every game. Jubilation would erupt once someone had finally acquired all the passport stamps to win.

Bible Verses
As summer approaches, we would like for our Kindergarteners to have a blessed and safe summer. One way they can bless others around them is to share with them one of the fourteen Bible verses they have memorized this year. Each student did an excellent job memorizing each verse and is ready to recite all fourteen verses in their Kindergarten graduation.

Missy Nish
One of the inspirations of our class book entitled: Missy Nish our Kindergarten Fish, was our new addition to the classroom, our class pet, Missy Nish. She is a beautiful blue fish that was named by the class. Each day KV shares the responsibility of feeding and taking care of our new blue finned friend.

Come see our book
Through out the school year KV has been learning about different authors. They have been working hard to create their own short stories just like the ones written by their favorite authors. Many of our short stories and illustrations are displayed on our outside the classroom and inside bulletin boards. KV also had a great opportunity to create a book of short stories written and illustrated by each student. The book was sent away to be published and we recently received our hard cover book in the mail. Come by and check it out.

Kindergarten has been working hard on Science this year. KV loves to explore God’s creation around us, and study about it. This year we learned about the human body. In our annual Academic Fair KV’s focus was on the five senses. To celebrate the learning of the sense of sound, Kindergarten students created their own instruments to display for the fair. The students and family worked real hared and helped make the Academic Fair a great success.

Fun in KV
Kindergarten has been full of excitement and learning. This year we have accomplished many exciting and new things. KV has explored the many adventures of our favorite fictional kindergartener Junie B. Jones. Our trip to Kuffberg Theater was especially exciting because we were able to see Junie B. Jones live on stage.
