Erosion

Earth Science! We have learned about weathering and erosion of Earth this month. How can you have a destructive and powerful volcano reduced to a very small mound? Erosion of the softer parts of the volcano when it has become extinct or is no longer erupting. This is something that does not happen over a short time.

Cells or Organs

I am Hanz! And I am Franz! During January the 7th grade learned about different body systems and organization of the body. What comes first the cell or the organ? Well cells form tissues and tissues for organs so the cell would have to come first… or would it?

H2SO4

That’s not water! That’s H2SO4! Oh you don’t know what that is? That is an acid called Sulfuric Acid. Acids and bases are important when you want to know if something could be harmful or helpful. Stomache aches are helped with a basic solution called Milk of Magnesia.

Finish the race

Students finished up the year with the last two lessons in their workbook which were the lessons on the life of Paul. In these lessons we learned again the importance of standing up for truth. In this lesson we were first introduced to a man who did not serve God and actually persecuted those that did. God got a hold of Paul and he changed his life. Students learned that Paul didn’t start well but he was determined to finish well. What a powerful lesson to learn as they finish the 8th grade. As we moved into June we began our study guides for the final. This was a busy time for the students as they were preparing for other finals as well.

Final Lesson

Students finished up the year with the last two character traits which were service and reverence. This was a good way to sum up the year. We learned that service to God and others is a huge key to living a Christian life. Reverence was learning how to respect God’s name. This was a powerful lesson in teaching the students to always keep first in their life. As we moved into June we began our study guides for the final, this was a busy time for the students as they were preparing for other finals as well.

Take a Stand for the Truth

Students have been discussing the lives of Shadrach, Meshac, and Obednego. Three Hebrew boys that were taken from their homes. As in the month before where we studied Daniel these three men were friends and they too understood the importance of standing for truth. The students learned that these men were thrown into a fiery furnace for believing in God. As with Daniel God saved them as well. We learned that as they were brought out of the furnace that their clothes didn’t even smell like smoke. The students learned that no matter the outcome we must stand for the truth.
