Ancient Egypt

One of the most popular social studies topics is Ancient Egypt. Students studied one of history’s most talked about civilizations in reading about the lives and ruling of Egypt’s Pharaohs. We talked about the building of pyramids, their beliefs of the afterlife and mummies.

Pre-Algebra

Pre- Algebra Class worked on creating posters that represented relative information and converting it in to stem –n- leaf plots. They also converted data into a histogram and a box –n- whisker plot. The purpose of this unit study was to take daily data and show how math is used in our everyday lives.

Skills for the future

8th-12 grades are finished with Adobe Illustrator. The quiz is all we have left. Even if they don’t use graphic design in their careers, the students will have a basic know-how that they can build on later.

Adobe Illustrator

8th-12 grade began an in depth unit of study with Adobe Illustrator. The lessons will follow a tutorial format, with the teacher showing the new skill and the students copying. This culminated with a quiz in May so the students could show all that they learned.

Cinco de Mayo

May was wonderful time for the students in Spanish class as we were finishing our textbooks and preparing for finals and or Regents. Arriba! Students have been very busy learning about the Mexican culture and all the details about Cinco de Mayo! They also finished their last unit in their textbook and have started preparing for their upcoming finals and graduation. My busy bees! I pray the best for each of them.
