Candy Canes
We have been studying about Satan and how we can avoid his traps and be better Christians. We ended the month on a fun note, by doing a few class activities where we studied the birth of Jesus Christ. We talked about how the candy cane reminds us of the story of Jesus Christ’s birth and his death for us.

Comparisons
The students in 8th – 10th grade have been going through a series of program comparisons. First we compared MS paint and Pixie. We then compared word processing programs. Next we are comparing publishing design programs. These activities have been great for promoting a critical approach to computing!

Excel
Lower Middle School has been learning some really cool tools in Excel, counting m&m’s, bouncing balls, and birthdays to learn how to record data and create graphs of different kinds. They enjoyed how easy it is, and many of them plan to use Microsoft Excel’s amazing functions for their next academic fair project.

Spirit Week
I was impressed with how many students in both elementary and middle school entered a drawing, painting or collage of our school mascot, the eagle, in the first ever Spirit Week art contest here at Evangel. Thanks for participating, guys!
Miss Kleinschuster
Middle School
6th grade made a monochrome study and then re-created that drawing with paint, using black for shade and white for tint. All middle school students learned many technical artistic terms and can mix almost every single color imaginable from the three basic primary colors! 7th Grade broadened their repertoire by creating custom-made ink, oil pastel and chalk drawings, while 8th graders posed for each other for gesture and contour drawings.

Pre Algebra
We have been working on greatest common factors and least common multiples. The 8th graders created factor Christmas trees to decorate the classroom.

December
December is a magnificent month as we reflect on the coming of our precious savior. This month we encouraged students to not only keep this a No NC Zone but also a to create a Mutual Respect Zone in which students not only refrain from saying anything hurtful or disrespectful about others but also make a point of blessing those around them. Many created a 3-dimensional star on which they wrote a reflective statement about a gift that God has given to them that and how they can use that gift to bless others Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
