Students worked hard on equations. They learned earlier in the year about basic equations but as the end of the year approached, they were challenged with 2 step equations. They have been getting a taste of Algebra during this month.
Mrs. Racoma
Students worked hard learning about angles, shapes and triangles. They learned that a line is supplementary and it is 180°. Students also leaned that a triangle is the same degrees as a line and that a circle is 360°. It has been a challenge but it has been a great end of the year chapter.
Mrs. Racoma
This month we talked about conformity to Christ and not the world. Standing up for Christ and not simply blending in. We also started looking at the sacrifice of Christ. When you realize how much God gave, you are compelled to surrender your life to His unfailing love.
Mr. Lopez
This month we continued to make Prayer the highlight of our time and discussions. I believe God met us and as a result we have all grown. We also have been looking at the life of Esther. We watched the movie “One Night With a King”.
Mr. Lopez
This month we discussed the topic of inconsistencies. We looked at the life of Peter and his up’s and down’s. We talked about Jesus being our cornerstone and foundation. If we trust in him he will bring His consistencies into our lives.
Mr. Lopez
This month we learned about the family unit in Spanish class. The students learned the titles of every member. We made a family tree and labeled each person and also learned how to say I have (yo tengo) and you have (Tu tienes), to help in our conversational Spanish.
Mrs. Pascualini
Every year our students anxiously await the arrival of Elementary School Field Day. This is a day where local private schools get together and compete in track and field events. Not only do our students get to show off their speed and strength, but they unite together as one body to support and encourage one another. Our middle school did amazing this year with the 7th grade boys, 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys all taking 1st place. I was very impressed not only with how well they preformed, but with the amount of maturity that they exemplified. – Mr. Wong
Students are practicing non-stop for the Spanish proficiency exam. This exam will help gauge the student’s knowledge and understanding of the Spanish language.
Mrs. Colon
Thanks be to God! We have officially finished our book for Spanish, because of this 7th grade will be starting a project on a city in Spain. They will be able to tell me what are the special sites of these cities.
Mrs. Colon
Several middle school students and one elementary student had the privilege of participating in the Annual Association of Christian Schools International Art Fair in North Stonington, CT. The students were exited to get out of the city and to see for themselves what the competition is like.
Upon arrival to North Stonington Christian Church & Academy we attended a chapel service. This chapel service was where all the schools introduced themselves and guest speakers shared how God can use art and is the Master Artist. After chapel we headed to the wreck room where students were served lunch and had the opportunity to interact with kids from other schools. After lunch everyone headed to the school where all the artwork and ribbons were displayed. The artwork was judged before schools arrived and were rated Superior, Excellent or Good.
One piece of artwork (made this year) was submitted for each student and was compared with that of other students of the same grade level from other Christian schools. Evangel Christian School did an excellent job! Abrianna Ross (kindergarten) and Sopia Paskov (second grade) came in 1st in their age group, April Joanne Abortante (eighth grade), Angelie Cesario (seventh grade), Nicholas Reyes (fifth grade) and Christian Pascal (first grade) came in 2nd in their age group and last but not least Kreg Franco (seventh grade), Kristina Papacostas (seventh grade), Natale Barbosa (seventh grade), Astroy Semple (sixth grade), Amber Reyes (fourth grade) and Emmily Carrasquillo (eighth grade) came in 3rd in their age group.
Although we did a great job this year we plan to come back next year even stronger and ready to give all the other schools a run for their money!
