Excel
Lower Middle School has been learning some really cool tools in Excel, counting m&m’s, bouncing balls, and birthdays to learn how to record data and create graphs of different kinds. They enjoyed how easy it is, and many of them plan to use Microsoft Excel’s amazing functions for their next academic fair project.

Spirit Week
I was impressed with how many students in both elementary and middle school entered a drawing, painting or collage of our school mascot, the eagle, in the first ever Spirit Week art contest here at Evangel. Thanks for participating, guys!
Miss Kleinschuster
Middle School
6th grade made a monochrome study and then re-created that drawing with paint, using black for shade and white for tint. All middle school students learned many technical artistic terms and can mix almost every single color imaginable from the three basic primary colors! 7th Grade broadened their repertoire by creating custom-made ink, oil pastel and chalk drawings, while 8th graders posed for each other for gesture and contour drawings.

December
December is a magnificent month as we reflect on the coming of our precious savior. This month we encouraged students to not only keep this a No NC Zone but also a to create a Mutual Respect Zone in which students not only refrain from saying anything hurtful or disrespectful about others but also make a point of blessing those around them. Many created a 3-dimensional star on which they wrote a reflective statement about a gift that God has given to them that and how they can use that gift to bless others Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. India
Students just completed projects on the country India. Students presented with power point, food, dioramas and fashion. Several students dressed as an individual from the country of India. Students also used poster boards to assist with their presentations.

Tourism
After finishing a chapter on traveling, each student picked a country to do a power point presentation on tourism. It was a virtual tour of students’ hometowns and popular tour destinations. It was an exciting project where students brought the world into the classroom by introducing diverse cuisines, outdoor activities, and landmarks.

Him or Her
Male & Female we’ve created them – referring to words of course. In Spanish, masculine nouns have the article el in the singular form and the article los in the plural. Feminine nouns have articles la in the singular form and article las in the plural. Join us as we learn when and how to use these awesome articles that will be a stepping stone into a future of verb conjugations, possessive pronouns, and more.

Thankful
In the month of November the 6th grade Bible class studied chapters 10-16, ending with a Thanksgiving class project where they had to discover what they were truly thankful for. As you can imagine, the majority were thankful for their families and God, but a few said that they were thankful for their Bible teacher and as for me I said Ii was thankful for all my students.
Earth Science
November has been a great month. We have transitioned from life sciences to earth sciences. What a big change going from learning about viruses and bacteria to learning about plate tectonics and the formation of the continents. The students are doing a project to teach the class about the theory of plate tectonics so that each student may get a better grasp of the chapter.

Mavis Beacon
6th and 7th are finishing a unit of Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. We started by taking a preliminary speed test, then practiced for several weeks, and took another speed test. Many of the students improved greatly in their typing rates. They are on track to become the fastest typists around!
