We have been studying the book of Genesis, the book of beginnings. The students had to do a project delineating the descendants of Abraham down to Jacob’s children and write facts about each person. The projects the students made are impressive. Many of them testify they were able to put in perspective the different stories they had learned from young, others learned them for the first time. Isn’t it great!
We are looking forward to learn about the exodus and the worship of the people of Israel. We will discuss the tabernacle, the feasts/festivals, and the sacrifices and how they all point to Jesus.

During December we have enjoyed sharing our talents in Christmas programs that portrayed the true meaning of Christmas; we have found encouragement from secret angels; and have even enjoyed the first real snow of the season. Students can learn that they have the ability to bless others and can give the gift of themselves. James 1 says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth that we might be a kind of first fruits of all He created”. I pray that the Christmas break brings many blessings to each family. We certainly have God’s goodness to look forward to in the New Year.

We are turning the century and looking at the development of the US as an industrial, financial, and military power. Underneath all of these fine advancements, we are dealing with poverty, corruption, vice, and racism. As we move into this holiday season, be grateful and mindful of what we have and what we’ve lost as a nation – but mostly on what we have
