How much ice cream does an ice cream cone hold? Which popcorn container holds the most popcorn? Students explored surface area and volume of different solids to find the answer.

Math students became more confident this month in their abilities as they tried to beat the clock during review time.

Students studied the effects of resonance on pendulums and structures. They enjoyed watching a video on the effects of resonance on a bridge.

Chords, tangents, secants, and arcs these are just a few of the new terms students learned when they studied the properties of circles.

Getting ready for the Regents
This month we began our Regents review. Students focused on binomial expansions and probability.

Circuits
Christmas lights opened our discussion of series and parallel circuits. Students explored these two circuits using voltmeters and ammeters.

Advanced Geometry
Students have been working with right triangles. They have used the Pythagorean Theorem to find the sides of a triangle. They have also used trig functions to find angles.
