Color Mixing

Did you know there are at least three different ways to mix the color brown? 3-5th grades do! They can mix virtually any color from 5 basic colors: primaries, black, and white. They also prepared for the Christmas season by making homemade, decorated Christmas cards out of construction paper, miniature templates, markers and glitter.

The Beginnings

We took a break from the regular book study and started a video series called The Beginnings. It is an interesting study on creation vs. evolution. In the video we study the effectiveness of looking at the age of the earth and how difficult the theory of evolution is to believe and the earth having a true creator named God is the actual truth.

Bible Characters

This Month we discussed biblical characters like Esther and Mordecai and how Esther was able to rise in the midst of social injustice to save her people. At the end of the month the 8th graders were assigned a class project where they needed to pick a biblical character and research the life and put it on a story board to present to the class. We had many talented presentations including ones on Samson, Jesus, Daniel, and Noah.
