Lost and Found
We read Arthur Lost and Found by Marc Brown. We discussed the importance of being near our parents at all time when we are out, and also the important information students should now in case they were to get lost. Mom and Dad’s complete name, phone numbers and all the information to identify themselves. We had a good time.

Confidence
1C listened to Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. This is an awesome story about a little mouse that has a good level of confidence in herself until she starts school and the kids start making fun of her name. She starts to welt and feel ashamed and her self esteem crumbles until a teacher intervenes. An amazing story about feeling great about oneself.

Learning to read
KV and KT have enjoyed their library time. This month we read the story of Officer Bucle and Gloria, a funny story about safety and how to keep safe. They have also taken advantage of looking at our new books and trying to sound out the words, I can tell they will become great readers soon.
