“The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual starters in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won;t be worth a dime.” -Babe Ruth. We have been blessed this year with an amazing group of young ladies. These ladies are not only talented, but they have turned this team into a family. One that so far is 3-0, with their latest victory over last years champions Long Island Lutheran. Our Lady Eagles are off to a great start and we are anxiously awaiting the rest of the season.
Go Lady Eagles!!!
Our first book fair took place on Oct. 2nd, students had a great time looking at the wonderful books and the volunteers did a great job helping them choose the “right book” for them! Thanks to all the parents that helped and made this event a great success. We raised $975 in books and equipment for the Library!!
The Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) would like to extend a warm welcome to all parents, teachers and students. We pray that we can work together and make this 2008 – 2009 school year an awesome experience for all.
The $10 dollars per family donation can still be sent to your child’s teacher, just place it in an envelope marked PTF-donation.
As you know, the candy sell is going on right now! Remember that for each box you sell ($52) your account will be credited $26 up to $150 per child!! We have extra boxes if you need more.
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine upon us, that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.

In Earth Science the past couple of weeks we have been studying rocks. Most students would agree that rocks are boring and useless; however I have been so impressed with my 10th graders this week as they have shown me how they’ve grown into quite the rock experts. As I played a review game with the students for their test over rocks, I gave the students names of different types of rocks and they had to classify the rock into one of the three major rock categories. All the students surprised me with how well they were able to classify most rocks. Their hard work and studying really paid off!

The past week in Living Environment we have been studying the biosphere. Students have had an up close look at the different interactions between organisms and their environment. The liveliest discussion we had all week was about the way that our waste moves nutrients back into our water and soil so that the different nutrient cycles can continue. Most students were shocked to know that we had waste plants that take our waste and get clean water from it. We are hoping to plan a trip sometime this year to view a waste plant. Hope the kids are ready for the smell!
12th Bible – We are walking through the Gospels looking at each writer’s account of Jesus’ life and His teachings. We are being challenged in areas of our motives and the relationships that we maintain or build. We are focusing a lot on the BOTTOM LINE!
Mr. Prawel
12th Government – We have looked at the foundations of American government, taking 11th grade a step further, and now we are discussing our civil liberties and how far they extend – we will soon begin to look closely at elections and how we choose our policymakers!
Mr. Prawel
9th Advanced Algebra – we are moving along through some review of basic algebra and getting into deeper issues of integers and the multiplicative inverse J Our classes are lively and fun as we explore some of the rules of Math and how we use them or see them almost every day.
