Bible Verses

As summer approaches, we would like for our Kindergarteners to have a blessed and safe summer. One way they can bless others around them is to share with them one of the fourteen Bible verses they have memorized this year. Each student did an excellent job memorizing each verse and is ready to recite all fourteen verses in their Kindergarten graduation.

Missy Nish

One of the inspirations of our class book entitled: Missy Nish our Kindergarten Fish, was our new addition to the classroom, our class pet, Missy Nish. She is a beautiful blue fish that was named by the class. Each day KV shares the responsibility of feeding and taking care of our new blue finned friend.

Come see our book

Through out the school year KV has been learning about different authors. They have been working hard to create their own short stories just like the ones written by their favorite authors. Many of our short stories and illustrations are displayed on our outside the classroom and inside bulletin boards. KV also had a great opportunity to create a book of short stories written and illustrated by each student. The book was sent away to be published and we recently received our hard cover book in the mail. Come by and check it out.

Kindergarten has been working hard on Science this year. KV loves to explore God’s creation around us, and study about it. This year we learned about the human body. In our annual Academic Fair KV’s focus was on the five senses. To celebrate the learning of the sense of sound, Kindergarten students created their own instruments to display for the fair. The students and family worked real hared and helped make the Academic Fair a great success.

Fun in KV

Kindergarten has been full of excitement and learning. This year we have accomplished many exciting and new things. KV has explored the many adventures of our favorite fictional kindergartener Junie B. Jones. Our trip to Kuffberg Theater was especially exciting because we were able to see Junie B. Jones live on stage.

Fun in Second Grade

Our second graders enjoyed learning about the colonists in Social Studies class and how times have changed. We also had a spiritual emphasis week in which the students thought about their relationship with Christ and how they can use their talents in the Lord. They also learned that they are special, and that God has a plan for their lives. Besides focusing on academics and spiritual growth our students had loads of fun dressing up in their favorite sports team during Sports Day. We had some baseball, soccer, and even basketball players. They had a blast!

Party Time

Students shifted their attention to pasa-tiempos and el camping with summer arriving just around the corner. They learned about the many fun things done when families go out camping. Finally, we planned and had our closing year parties in Spanish.

Designers

Students designed their own papeleria floor plan. This was their own ideal school supply store, floor plan. I also had them, make a report about critical current events in Latin-America, straight from a Spanish newspaper article.

Wall of Fame

Students changed the wall of fame board, with new projects. They put up some cool, self designed Spanish menus. They also worked on translating current events from the Latino newspaper.
