Bible Class

This month in Bible 4L is studying the death and resurrection of Christ. It has been a very powerful time for the class as we each ask ourselves: Am I truly born again? We are also studying the Holy Spirit (whom Christ sent for us after He ascended). We are learning about how He is our Comforter, who is here to give us council and support; our Helper who gives us the boldness to preach, witness, and live our faith; and our Guide who shows us the right way to go as we navigate our way through the world.

Ice Skating

This month 4th Grade went on a fieldtrip to Bryant Park where we skated around in circles- ice-skated that is. We had a day full of fun, laughter, and quite a few falls. Students who had never ice-skated before learned how and those with some skills got even better. I can proudly say nobody gave up even if some looked as though they had been taking swimming lessons instead of ice-skating by the time we were done.

Social Studies

In November for Social Studies 4L became the Iroquois Confederacy. Students were assigned roles in each of the Eastern Woodlands tribes and given Native American names. We made headpieces and artifacts. We held a council meeting where students were challenged to make difficult decisions; and share lessons and history through storytelling.
