Students just completed their PSAT’s last week. Good job! We have been working on small business loans this week. We have been working together in class to use formulas to figure out the annual interest, principal and the term of the loan. They will be having a quiz on small business loans this week. Keep plugging away 11th grade.

7th grade has been moving along quickly. Students will be having a mid-chapter assessment on the second chapter this week. They have been working hard learning the divisibility of numbers by using divisibility tests. Students will also be making factor trees at the end of the week as they continue through chapter 2.

Students have been working hard with a chapter test last week and staring in on mean, mode, median and range this week. They continuously challenge me to be a better teacher by the questions they ask in class. We are all moving forward together and I am proud to say that in 6th grade math, students have been doing well as a whole with getting in their homework on time. Way to go 6th grade!!!
It’s a busy time in room 302 as the students are memorizing prepositions in grammar. Learning spelling rules and words, and ultimately learning how to be the best writers they can be. Do you know the four stages of the writing process or the aims or writing? Ask your seventh or eighth grader! Do you know the different types of sentences? Ask your sixth grader! I’d love for them to share their answers with you.

What is your hiding place? What do you use it for? The students are reading the true-life story of Corrie Ten Boom to find out why such a hiding place was needed in her life. As we read this novel, students will learn how to overcome difficult situations they may face in their lifetime, while keeping their focus on Jesus Christ.
