The Big Wave

5E is enjoying the book, Escaping the Giant Wave, a story that talks about a boy their own age who escapes from a Tsunami with his little sister by fleeing just in time to higher grounds. This story is especially touching now since the Tsunami took place in Japan, and it is something that they can relate to in their own time.

Be Nice

4L has been listening to the story of Mr. Lincoln’s Way by Patricia Polacco. This is a story about a bully who is touched by a caring principal and changes his whole attitude. It is a wonderful story that our students enjoyed listening to.

Fear Not

2nd Grade enjoyed listening to Good Night Sleep Tight, Don’t Let The Bedbugs Bite, a funny story about being afraid, and how we imagine things that are not real when we are afraid. We talked about fears and the reason to not be afraid, because the Lord Almighty is with us always.

1st Grade has continued to borrow books to work on their book reports for class. For this month we read The Shiny Red Sled, a story about loving one another and about forgiveness. We also listened to A Sticky Mystery. Both of these books are great character builders for our kids. They really enjoyed them.

Yummy Books

Pre-K has been listening to stories written by Laura Numeroff. They have listened to If You Give a Moose a Muffin. If You Give a Cat a Cupcake was their favorite. They can identify with food that the animals like. They said that they love cupcakes with sprinkles just like the cat in the story. After they listened to the read aloud and we have our question and answer session they get to look at books on their own. They enjoy holding and looking at books.
