The 6th Grade Math Class worked with probability situations. Students did a few exercises to witness probability used in daily life activities.

The 8th grade class studied percent change with buying and selling at discounted prices. Students constructed their own word stories to identify percent change of increase and decrease. They also included sales tax and tips.

Polygons
The 7th Grade Math Class has been studying polygons identification and quadrilaterals. Students were given instructions to draw and construct three dimensional solid polygons.

Rates and ratios
The 6th Grade Math Class was engaged in a unit study of comparing rates and ratios. They also studied how to identify ordered pairs using coordinate planes. This unit of study showed how coordinate planes are used with mapping skills, and directional skills.

It’s Finally Here!
This last month was mostly a review of the entire school year as the 8th grade students began preparing for Finals and graduation.

WWII
Students studied the new weaponry and technological advancements during WWII. They also discussed their opinions on America’s decision to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan.

The Great Depression
Students put themselves in the shoes of a struggling parent during the Great Depression. We also looked at this period of American history and compared it with what we are facing today with our economic struggles.

8th grade news reporters
A key topic this month was the Spanish American War. As an activity, 8th grade students were asked to create news reports on the war and present to their classmates.

Progressive Movement
8th grade spent a month studying the Progressive movement. Then they had fun creating campaign posters.

North vs South
To end the school year, 7th grade studied the differences in the lifestyles between the North and the South. They created flags representing either the North or the South. Then they studies hard for their finals.
