Jump Start Fun
Students are nearing the end of their introductory keyboarding unit. We have learned the eight home row keys and have begun to practice reaching other keys while staying in home row position. We will wrap up the unit by learning about the 10 key number pad. We’ve also been having fun in 3rd through 5th grade Jump Start and our various painting programs.

Road Trip!
The Gingerbread Man has kept in touch as he promised. He has been traveling all over the United States and sent us postcards of his journey. He is working his way back to Evangel. We have recorded his adventure on our map and can’t wait to see him again.

Laws of Motion
Seniors have been studying forces and the Laws of Motion. They have crashed toy cars into walls. They have used stuffed animals and rubber bands to simulate the effects of not wearing seat belts and the benefits of wearing one.

Ionic Compounds
Chemistry students have been studying ionic compounds. They have learned how ionic compounds form and how to name these compounds. In lab they have created crystal structures out of clay.
Calculus
Seniors have been studying functions. They have graphed functions and they have also found the inverse functions. They are now studying quadratic functions and polynomial functions in more detail.

Algebra 2
Juniors are currently studying quadratic functions. They have learned how to graph, factor, and solve these equations. Students have also encountered imaginary numbers for the first time. They were very surprised to find that after they completed all the practice by hand that their calculators could also handle imaginary numbers.
