Students read and analyzed texts of several genres including poetry, prose, and theater. In the analysis of the works students paid attention not just to the literary techniques employed by the authors corresponding with the literary fashions of their time but also explored the social, historical, ideological, religious, philosophical, aesthetic and political backgrounds that contributed to their creation.
At this level of Spanish, students emerge into the literary richness of the language, while reviewing and continuously practicing the conversational and vocabulary concepts of Spanish. The goal is to refine and enhance in proficiency that will last a lifetime through immersion of the language.
Students approached the literary material confidently and made impressive text-to-text, text-to-self, and text-to-world connections.
