The students in the third grade experienced a different world this year. The third grade is the year in which the students’ work becomes more extensive and the responsibility for the tasks becomes more of the students’ own.
We explored a variety of genres and worked on various skills and strategies for comprehension, as well as for critical thinking and analysis. We also became authors to create our own formal writing pieces to publish, in which the lengths or the qualities of the contents expected were challenging. The mathematical concepts became more abstract with skills that demanded students to analyze and synthesize their learning, going beyond memorization of mathematical facts.
In the midst of our hard strive to be equipped and prepared for our Creator academically, we did not forego of the fun and the blessing of each individual’s presence in the Lord – We became another important family of God.
