In Social Studies our theme was the fight for freedom. We delved into women and African Americans struggle for equal rights. We learned about brave women who fought for suffrage (the right to vote) and men who fought in the Civil War. We also rejoiced over President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation that put an end to slavery in all states.
