After we discussed interesting facts about crabs and sea stars, through poetry 1c began creating their own. We traced, cut and painted crabs and sea stars. After all our sea creatures were ready, we assembled a crab chart which reinforced the concept of counting by 10’s, and also assembled a sea star quilt which reinforced counting by 5’s.
