2nd Annual Art Fair Update … the Results are in!

We made it to the front cover and page 16 of our local paper, wonderful! See full Gazette article attached.

We want to thank all the parents, staff  and local community members for your support of our school’s 2nd ANNUAL STUDENT ART SHOW on Thursday April 18th 2013.  In a time when art programming is being cut from many public schools due to budget cuts, etc…  ECS remains committed to continue with the arts programming even with our tight budgets.(we operate on 1/3 the budget of the public school system) Your donations help in making this  possible.

In addition to enriching the community and extending goodwill throughout the school the afternoon raised $1,549 for the Art Department, $200 of which will go to six students as prize winners.  Special  thanks  to our PTF- Parent Teacher Fellowship , First Central Savings Bank our official sponsor, Parisi Bakery, Dunkin Donuts (on Broadway)  CTown Supermarket (on Broadway) for their donations and support of local education in the community!  Our winner’s art work will be displayed in First Central Savings Bank in Astoria for one month.   Of course the biggest thank you goes to Mrs. Colon our art teacher for coordinating this very special event.

Congratulations to all ECS students that  participated! Winners are below and their certificates, ribbons and/or prizes will be awarded at our annual awards chapel end of May.
