The sixth grade had the privilege of going on a ministry trip to the Lower East Side of Manhattan where they shared cards, sang and visited in a nursing home.  They were able to sing and visit with each floor in the home. After we finished visiting, students had lunch and a time of sharing about their experience at the nursing home. There were some great stories shared of how people they met that day reminded them of people or family members in their own lives. The stories brought about tears and thankfulness. Students came back saying how blessed they were and thankful for all they had.

In consumer math, students have been working on what it would take to run a business. They have had a test and several quizzes on assets, liabilities, and capital. As we continue through the week, students will continue seeing the financial side of running a business.

Happy winter from Class 1c, Its DECEMBER ALREADY!
We hope everyone enjoyed a Wonderful Thanksgiving break! Wow! 1c has come a long way since September. We are learning to code two syllable words. We are becoming better readers because we are carefully blending our words.
We are continuing to learn the value of pennies, nickels, and dimes through games with the whole class, individually and with a partner during workplaces.
Ms. Calma and Mrs. Sawyer

We have been experimenting with a variety of paints and surfaces. We have been practicing our strokes and we have come to find out that we have a whole lot of talent. Come to our Christmas show and see our display.

The students are learning how to protect themselves by using various Jujitsu moves. This is an exciting, fast-paced elective. It is also building up our cardio-vascular system. We are enjoying building up the bodies that God has given us.

Comments Off on Self Defense Elective

This is a very interesting elective. Here students act out a song as mimes. They portray the love of Christ with each movement. Right now they are practicing for their Christmas Program. The name of the song that they are actingout is “Every Man” by Casting Crowns. They are also working on “Who am I” by wearing white gloves that show up under a black light. Come and see our program!!!
