Thankfulness
November is a great time to think about all of the things we are thankful for. God has blessed us in so many ways, and it is important to take time each day to tell Him how much we appreciate it. We’ve been reading many books about being thankful.

Forgiveness
October is all about forgiveness. Through Bible verses, books, and class discussions we are learning about why forgiveness is so important. Forgiveness is deciding that someone who had wronged you doesn’t have to pay. We can all think of a time when we were forgiven, so we also must forgive others.

Four by Four
his month in Math we are studying about everything using base-four measurement. We are making predictions about our calendar markers in Number Corner that regroup by fours from units, to strips, to mats. We are learning about liquid measurement using food coloring and visually seeing how 4 cups make a quart, and 4 quarts make a gallon. Finally, we are using base-four notation the way mathematicians do while we find minimal collections for the hands-on base-four pieces we use. It is amazing to see how many times we count by fours in our everyday life without even thinking about it!

Food Chain
4th grade is studying about plant and animal life. We not only learned how plants grow, we also grew our own bean sprouts and measured which type of bean grows the fastest. FYI: Lima beans won! We also learned about producers (plants), consumers (animals), and decomposers (bacteria and fungi). Working together in groups we created our own elaborate food chain. It is awesome to see how God makes everything work and interact together perfectly; and how even the most insignicant creatures can have an important purpose in His design.

Dream Car
The students have been writing in Spanish about their dream car and where they want to go. They are doing a great job developing Spanish skills. I am excited for November where I will be introducing the theme of Public Servant Workers, and how we communicate our needs with them.

The Tabernacle
10th Grade Bible We have been discussing about the Tabernacle and its furnishings, and how God’s love is full of mercy and grace. He demonstrated His love for the Israelites by dwelling among them and giving orders for a tabernacle to be built, so a relationship could be built with HIM.

Great progress
6th Grade is really progressing in leaps and bounds in Spanish. We have been learning about other countries and their currency. The students worked on projects that help them learn more about Central American children and the toys they play with. November has a lot in stored for them learning about days of the week, seasons, and the months.

Writers Workshop
Writers Workshop is also a new class in the curriculum for this year. Our students are walking through the Writing Process to become published authors. For the Month of September our students published Bio-Poems and had a Publishing party to celebrate their accomplishment. It is amazing to see how they are evolving into great writers.
