Spiritual Disciplines
Students in the 9th grade Bible class began to study the importance of spiritual disciplines, like reading the Bible and praying. They learned that these two disciplines are key to their relationship with Christ. Just like going to the gym we learned that these disciplines strengthen us like exercise does for our muscles. In the next month we finish up this lesson by talking about the other 2 disciplines.

Take a Stand for the Truth
Students have been discussing the lives of Shadrach, Meshac, and Obednego. Three Hebrew boys that were taken from their homes. As in the month before where we studied Daniel these three men were friends and they too understood the importance of standing for truth. The students learned that these men were thrown into a fiery furnace for believing in God. As with Daniel God saved them as well. We learned that as they were brought out of the furnace that their clothes didn’t even smell like smoke. The students learned that no matter the outcome we must stand for the truth.

Obedience
Students have been learning the character trait of obedience. In the month prior we talked about honesty and listening to authority. This was a nice way to tie these three lessons together. The students learned the importance of obeying their parents but most of all obeying God.

End Times
The 6th grade class again studied the book of Revelations. We took a more in depth approach at how God describes the end. Again, we had great discussions on what the world will look like during those times. I believe the students enjoyed these lessons and will not forget what they learned.

Creation vs Evolution
In the Month of March the 9th grade Bible class began a deeper study into how God created the world. It was an interesting discussion on the differences between evolution and creation. The students were able to look at both perspectives and as a result the students were presented with creation by God.

Daniel
In the Month of March the 8th grade Bible class studied the life of Daniel. This young man was a great example of how to live your life in truth no matter what the consequences may be. We learned that Daniel was willing to stand up for the truth even if it would cost him his life. As you know, Daniel was thrown into a den of lions, but God spared his life and as a result the king saw who God truly was.

Good Character
In the month of March the 7th grade Bible class began a character study on honesty and listening to authority. It was a lesson that few will forget. As submitting to authority requires honesty, the students understood the importance of always telling the truth in all situations and listening to their parents and teachers as well.

Revelation
In the Month of March the 6th grade Bible class studied the book of Revelation. They found the book interesting and we had many good discussions on what was being written. I believe that they have a much better understanding of the material now, even though it was a brief overview. In the next few months we will be diving deeper in the book.

Congratulations
Everybody’s favorite month is June. It is the last month of school, the weather is warmer, and for many it is graduation time. This is true for kindergarten, they have the chance to have their graduation and celebrate their many accomplishments throughout the year. But before their graduation, kindergarten had the privilege of going bowling as their end of the year trip. It was a great time for everybody, we all had fun and were able to spend some time playing and enjoying each other’s company. As I mentioned above, kindergarten had their graduation. All the students looked great in their cap and gowns and they all sang and recited their bible verses wonderfully. But the best thing was seeing the proud faces of each of their parents. Congratulations class of 2011! I will miss you all!

Give your worries to God
KT also had the opportunity to participate during chapel. Mrs. Torres shared how if we keep our worries to ourselves, we only get tied up and are not able to do anything. But when we seek God first all the time, even in the middle of problems, He will help us. Then KT said a verse for everybody.
