Lifestyles
Students created diagrams of the following civilizations and their lifestyles: Lydians, Israelite s, Phoenicians, and Hittites. The diagrams were incredible and the students were very resourceful and creative!
Civil War
Students just completed a unit study of the Civil War and the reconstruction of the South. Students created banners that they would have carried if they had been in a parade after the Civil War was over. They also created political cartoons about the 13th Amendment, imagining they were African-Americans during Reconstruction. Students also created a speech about changes they would like to happen in America.
Colonies
Students are learning about the early North American Colonies. The students designed personal flags for one of the Middle Colonies. They used symbols and colors that were appropriate to represent it. They completed further study of colonial growth, economics, and colonial lifestyle. They then created menus of the food that would have been shared between the Indians and the Pilgrims (early settlers).
Incredible
The students are going over dance routines, steps, and moves for the Christmas program. They are performing the song Incredible. We are looking forward to a great performance.

Fitness Testing
Students are finally finished with the Fitness Test. They did push-ups, sit-ups, the flex-arm hang (to see how many seconds they could hold themselves), and the 10 minute run. Now we are starting to work on bumping and setting a volley ball.
Basketball
The students have been learning basketball drills – how to dribble and bounce the ball with one hand and dribble while they are walking. They also learned how to bounce pass to each other and chest pass. The last skill they learned was how to shoot the ball into the basket. After all the practice and drills, they had fun playing an actual game of basketball – well at least shooting the basket.
Tuck N Roll
In the month of October, Pre-K 3 and 4 students learned to walk a balance beam. We have also been learning some acrobatics. They did the banana roll, tumbles, and the hand stand walk. That is where the students walk on their hands and the teacher holds their feet. Most of the students loved it. It was a great learning experience!
Get the evidence
Excitement filled the air as we were called to a crime scene at Evangel Christian School. We presented our CSI badges at the perimeter and quickly began sketching the scene. We also gathered evidence at the scene and packaged it up to analyze back at the crime lab. Later on, we hypothesized how the evidence arrived at the scene and discerned if it was important to solving the crime. Who did it? Find out next month!
