All Middle School Social Studies classes have begun to work on a civics education program called Project Citizen.  An inquiry-based program, Project Citizen helps to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become active citizens in order to work to make their communities better.

Grade 6 and 7 – Students continue to learn reading strategies to help digest informational text.  Inquiry-based learning has been introduced as well as a number of hands-on projects, simulations, and games. Our lessons are cross-curriculuar, incorporating English, Science, Art, Math, and more!

Grade 8 – Students will be working on the New York City Exit Project in Social Studies for the month of November.  Students will investigate a topic within the Progressive Movement in depth.  This will allow students to experience immersion in a social studies topic, as well as question, investigate, and present a well-researched project.
