On June 23rd, our Evangel family celebrated with our largest graduationg class! . What a wonderful day; a day full of excitement and happiness. We were so blessed to have Pastor Marko  speak to our graduates and his theme was: “Jesus is in oyourboat”. We were reminded to always “live for Him”. Our special music was provided by our seniors as they sang “The Climb”. Mrs. Rosario ministered in dance to “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. Each student was given their very own scripture as tey received their Diplomas. There were over 1,000 in attendance and what a celebration we had.

We pray that God continues to guide our graduates as they go on to college. We know that wherever they land – they will be a “light” and they will impact their world for Christ! Check out Galleries for some awesome pics!

When thinking about athletes the first thing that usually does not come to mind is three piece suits and elegant dress. But, to celebrate their accomplishments and a hard fought season, the athletes of Evangel got together for their annual sports banquet. During the banquet, athletes are recognized for their commitment, dedication, and hard work. They put in countless hours of training and worked tirelessly to not only better themselves, but their teammates as well. What made this Banquet special was the relationship and bonds that these athletes shared with each other. True relationships are not formed over night; they take time to build and time to grow. They are rarely perfect. They have ups and downs and plenty of growing pains, but it is threw these experiences that bonds are strengthened and lasting memories are made.

This year our Academic Ceremony was so large that we had to conduct the Awards Part of our Ceremony in the Sanctuary and then meet downstairs for the awesome desserts. Students that have made the Honor Roll, High Roll or Principal’s List are honored each year with trophies at our banquet. The gymnasium was decorated in Red, White and Blue and the desserts consisted of a chocolate bar, an icecream bar and cake – yummy. We had a great time celebrating all of our students accomplishments. Way to Go!!!!!

Check out “Galleries” for fabulous pics.

Friday. June 15th our Fifth Graders “Stepped Up” to Middle School. The ceremony was wonderful and students received Presidential Academic Excellence Awards, and Achivement Awards. The class sang “I Need You To Survive” and recited verses. The students received their Bibles and Diplomas and National Honor Society Members wore their stoles. All NEHS officers wore yellow cords. Mr. Marko prayed over the gradutaes and then the recessional began. Congratulations Fifth Grade!

Middle School Graduation

On Saturday, June 16, we graduated  our 8th graders. The students looked awesome….the boys in maroon gowns and the girls in gold.  There was much excitement in the air. The 8th grade Representative, Gabrial Agosto lit the class candle and began the ceremony. Our Salutatorian, Charline Mazanek, and our Valedictorian, Elijah Colon, both gave incredible speeches, spurring their classmates on and encouraging them to “stay the course:. They spoke of fun times at Evangel and thanked many people. There speeches were inspiring and ended with always remembering to keep God first. Mrs. Racoma, Mrs. Pena and and Destiny sang “Circle of Friends”. This song was chosen to encourage to look to the Lord no matter what may come their way. Many awards were given out and then Diplomas and Bibles were given.  Mr. Racoma spoke about standing firm on the foundation that has been laid. The Class Rep. then lit a candle symbolizing a new beginning and the recessional began. We love you!!!!

The NED show came to our school with a positive message through the use of yo-yo tricks.  NED stands for Never Give Up, Encourage others, & Do your best.  The students stayed attentive during the show and answered questions as the presentation was given.  They learned yo-yo tricks in the process of the show and were able to purchase their very own yo-yo’s to reemphasize the message the NED brings.  The students have continued to talk about it and there has been a special area in the gym designated in the gym called the “NED” zone where students can practice the tricks they learned.  We hope we can have the show return next year as it has such a positive impact on our school.

Please see Galleries for some wonderful pictures

I am going to miss each and every one of you. It has been a pleasure to be part of your child’s academic life. I have enjoyed teaching them, listening to them and sharing the word of God with them. I want to thank all the families that sent in treats, photographs and other supplies for our different festivities, activities and lessons.

11- To my Juniors I will greatly miss our small group. Please continue to practicing your reading in Spanish over the summer. The students improved greatly. The students ended on chapter 1 in the new upper level textbook. Even though the reading was tougher the student pulled through and they did well.

Enjoy your summer continue to study your Spanish and read your Bible.
