Evangel Christian School
National Honor Society & National Junior Honor Society
Induction and Recognition Ceremony
May 29, 2008 7:00pm
This was a beautiful candlelighting ceremony where we recognized 30 NHS members and inducted 9 new NHS members. There were 16 NJHS members that were recognized and 26 new NJHS members were inducted. The four High School Officers each read about one of the four characteristics that represent the National Honor Society. All new inductees were pinned. 12th and 8th grade officers received Honor Cords, and all seniors received Honor Stoles to be worn at gradauation. The members and new inductees pledged to always honor the Truth of God. Candles were then lit by Seniors and all members marched down the aisle. We are very proud of all of our members.
Each group must work on a project in which they reach out to the community. NJHS raised money for autism and actually got to meet the little girl they raised money to help. NHS raised money to purchase clothes and toys and delivered them to a single mother’s shelter. Each group was truly blessed to be able to reach out and share God’s love.

The world lay in darkness before the Light of the World was born in the humble stable. We have been blessed to receive His light not only to live in hope but to take His hope to others. This truly is “The Christmas Miracle.” Our High School Program took place on Wednesday night, December 19th. Students shared with the congregation that Christmas is about light. Light from the star led the wisemen to Jesus and just as the star led them we are to be a light in a world full of darkness. This was shared through skits, plays, dances, and essays. What a blessed evening.
Christmas Through The Eyes Of…” was shared on Tuesday, December 18th at the Middle School Christmas Program. Students shared poems and essays written about our Savior’s birth through the eyes of: Mary, a star, the donkey, Joseph and the Innkeeper. Sixth through Eighth grades sang class songs and students danced and sang to their Lord and Savior. What an awesome time we had praising the Lord and glorifying Him.
